Camellia oleifera is a unique oilseed tree species in China, and its fruits can be used to extract important natural, green, organic, and healthy edible oil - tea oil. According to the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", China has a history of over 2300 years in cultivating Camellia oleifera. However, it is regrettable that due to various reasons, tea oil has long been "hidden in the depths of the boudoir", and Chinese people, especially in the northern regions, generally lack sufficient understanding of tea oil. Due to low yields and long return cycles, the industrialization of camellia oil has been slow or even regressed.
The comparative study conducted by the Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention on tea oil and olive oil shows that although tea oil and olive oil have similar components, the dietary and therapeutic dual function of tea oil is actually better than olive oil, and also better than any other oil. Olive oil contains 75% -90% unsaturated fatty acids, while tea oil contains up to 85% -97% unsaturated fatty acids, making it the top edible oil of all kinds. Tea oil contains specific physiological active substances such as tea polyphenols and camellia saponins, which are not found in olive oil. It can effectively improve cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, reduce cholesterol and fasting blood sugar, inhibit the increase of triglycerides, and have a significant effect on inhibiting cancer cells. Meanwhile, the molecular structure of tea oil is even finer than that of olive oil, so there is no need to worry about side effects and greasiness when consuming.
The national food and oil security situation is not optimistic. Foreign oil and fat enterprises have basically monopolized the Chinese edible oil market, and their equity and pricing rights are controlled by foreign parties. However, the international market is unpredictable, and only by relying on oneself and vigorously producing our own oil can we ensure the security of our country's grain and oil. Tea oil is a unique edible oil for us Chinese people!
