Medical usage
Chinese Pharmacopoeia (1995 edition) recorded tea oil as a medicinal oil. Camellia oil has a very good effect for internal and external use because it is rich in a variety of nutrients.

In the Ming dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang named Jiangxi tea oil as "royal food oil" and awarded it as "royal tea oil for longevity".
